In addition to this material, even the messages, pictures and other files it had deleted were still stored on Facebook servers. When asked about it, Facebook said that only "page removed" and not "delete". This means that when information is published on Facebook, it is never deleted. After discovering that Facebook has servers in Ireland, between August and September 2011, Schrems opened 22 complaints against the social network in Irish Data Protection Commissioner, an organ of this country.
